I collected cards as a child in the 70's. I picked the packs tossed the Cubs and Mets and carried them in my back pocket so I could flip them at school. I NEVER put them in the spokes of my bike but over the years they all disappeared.
With the birth of my son in 1993 I tried to pick up collecting again and almost purchased a small store. Both fell through as the market had taken off from the 3-4 sets available to me at the candy store in 1979.
Today my son is old enough to enjoy the collecting aspect and MLB has made an effort to reign in the flood. So we are back and looking forward to years of collecting.
